New?version?finally?arrived?though?came?late?.?Sorry?for?waiting?a?long?time,?my friends!

This new release version makes a little upgrade to enhance the stability of the product, and we focus on solving frequently appeared problems.

Functional changes are?including:

• Add the PHP curl and mbstring package detection in the installation process;
• Remove time zone settings in the installation process, which is replaced by PHP system time zone settings;
• Add a free IP address resolver named IpIp.net for Chinese users (Github user?17mon had pull request);
• Improving?the?function?of?the?user?permission?management;
• To?adapt?to?the?new?version?of?PHP?requirements,PHP?is?drivered?by?mysqli?instead?of?the?previous?mysql;
• The numbers of Active?user of region statistics, device types, OS statistics, resolution statistics, carriers statistics and network statistics reports are replaced by user sessions. And Top10 shows are changed from piechart to bar chart.
• Stability?of?other?function?is?improved.

In?addition?to?upgrade functionalities,?this?version?also improve the quality:

• Upgrading?Codeigniter?from?version?2.1.0 to?2.2.3, and repairing related bugs of the previous framework;
• Android and iOS?SDK?codes?are?made?a?big changes, which will make the SDK runs more stable;
• PHP?code?of?Web?server-side?also?uses?the?PEAR?coding?standard code style, and adds the code comments;
• In?order?to?improve?the?code?quality,?integrated?the?phpunit?unit?tests,?and?adds detailed test cases to the web interfaces;
• Add indexes for some tables to?improve?the?performance?of?the?query.

Compared with the previous version, CR Commercial v2.0 has magnificent improvement in two aspects. Firstly, the computing capabilities of the software have been greatly enhanced, and the overall performance increases by 60%, in that the calculating time is shorten tremendously.

Secondly, in view of the data storage problems, CR Commercial Edition v2.0 formulate the feasible and effective solution, which greatly reduces the data storage demand.

1.Calculating time is shorten tremendously

Fig 1 shows the calculating time hourly Cron Jobs of CR Commercial v1.0, which shows obviously the running time will increase linearly with the data. The data here is based on 130,000 times startup of mobile app, with 1.5 million page view (page view here is a synonyms to ‘a(chǎn)ctivity view’, you can view the report of ‘Visit Path’ in web of CR).

Fig 2 shows the calculating time hourly Cron Jobs of CR Commercial v2.0,which clearly states that the running time is kept constantly, average at 15 minutes.

At the mean time, in CR Commercial Edition 2.0, time-consuming jobs in daily Cron Jobs were moved into hourly Cron jobs. Which is amazing that, if the daily Cron Jobs take 16 hours in V1.0, it will need 4 minutes in hourly jobs.

You get to know it from Fig 3, calculating time is kept in a constant level at most cases. Normally from our experience, the hourly Cron Jobs can be done within 20 minutes.

2.Storage demands decreases

Storage usage is shown in Fig 4 for the new version. There are 28 million rows in Table clientdata, using 5.4GB; 350 million rows in usinglog using 40GB. If your app has 1 million active users daily, the numbers above is about to be the storage of 1-month usage.

3.Computing resources is reduced.

The Fig 5 shows the server resources consuming in CR Commercial 2.0.

4. SDK enhancement

Also, in the new version, we are providing a new version of SDK for Android and iOS, which fix some bugs and supporting the H5 Apps. That will be also very cool for users who wrap H5 pages into a native app!

5. Extreme cases analysis

Proved by the data above and related test results, in extreme cases, Cobub Razor Commercial Version 2.0 can support mobile app with 3 million daily users, and usinglog increases 38 million rows. Of course, the customer needs to setup a solid plan to archive and backup plan.

Cobub Razor has integrated with 3rd plugins from the last version. Now it becomes from the data analysis platform to an app lifecycle management platform, which can provides help for the development, testing, deployment, marketing and operations of the app products.

Cobub Razor iOS SDK make corresponding?changes according to to new policy of Apple iOS 7. New code of SDK changes the method to identify ?unique device, as well strengthen the data storage to make sure the data accuracy in most cases.

1. What changes in iOS 7 ?

Apple forbidden developers to get device UDID since June, 2013. And now in iOS 7, developer can not get MAC address, and can not use clipboard between Apps. The purpose of Apple is not to let developer ?identify unique device. This let analytics of users becomes more difficult.

2.Changes in Cobub Razor new SDK

Cobub Razor has upgraded the iOS SDK according to the Apple new policy. First, we will get IFDA of app. The IFDA will be considered as the unique ID and saved to KeyChain if IFDA is not empty.

If we can not get IFDA, we will still use OpenUDID as the unique identifier. The OpenUDID will also be saved to KeyChain.

If we can get UDID from keychain, we will consider this UDID in KeyChain as device identifier.

In general, if a system couldnt handle the concurrency issue well, some data will be dropped by the server. In the Mobile Analytics system like Cobub Razor, concurrency performance is decided by several facts as following:

1. Bandwidth: you may check the bandwidth usage. Your IDC or cloud provider like Amazon may restrict on the bandwidth of your server. But anyway, you can get a report from them.
2. Web Server Configuration: Nginx is recommended other than Apache. Also we found some user install Cobub Razor on Windows, we would like to say: keep away from Windows please.
3. Handle time of a session of the code: normally, the shorter time the code spend on handling a http session, the better of concurrency performance. In the commercial version of Cobub Razor, we do a lot of work on this part.
4. How you use the que server: we recommend strongly to use Redis as Que server to improve the efficiency of database connection.

v0.6 brings some new features:

Cobub Razor v0.6 also has a new feature Cobub User Center. Cobub Razor can integrated with Cobub User Center with account, which is to used for using the provided services. Cobub will provide many services for the whole life cycle of mobile applications. In the product level, Cobub Razor is not only a mobile analytics platform, but also a marketing platform, which will serve for the app life cycle.

We also can not forget the contributions from the community. So thanks for all of you. We will make communications with Cobub users by more channels.

Cobub Razor v0.5 is released!

User authorization in v0.5 has been improved. Administrator can set the access rights of each application for users.

In order to support flexible statistics, v0.5 adds the UserID as the identifier of device users. Developers can decide to assign the social account or telephone number ?as the user identifier to it. And this value will be uploaded and stored in the server for some user-defined scalability.

OpenAPI is also a new feature in the Cobub Razor v0.5. The OpenAPI can be used by any types of application, such as desktop, mobile application.

New version hint of Cobub Razor is also added in this version. User can get all later version updated notification on the Cobub Razor website.
